Oh dear.you cant claim IS for being disabled now, it changed in the last year or so and now only carers, single parents and a small group of other people can get it but if you were already getting it you would continue to get it for as long as you were eligable.
It just goes to show how complex the benefits system must be.
The information I received was from the Welfare Rights worker at the local Council.
I will expect to get a letter in the post shortly explaining why I am not allowed it.

I think you can claim now if you're on IB and have now been awarded DLA. And IB is less than what the law says you need to live on.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I hope Im mistaken for kitty mind you.
Existing IB claimants can still claim IS. Those wishing to reclaim IB under linking rules will no longer have that option at some point early this year (can't recall the date), they will have to make a claim for ESA.Gone ... or have I?0 -

I don't think it is, what it demonstrates is that benefit queries should be posted on the Benefits board!
Is it just yourself and the son/ dil in the house? Have you declared that they are staying to the IS Team? What rate of IB do you receive?Gone ... or have I?0 -
