Will having my son and daughter in law staying, affect my DLA?

I am on high rate DLA for care and mobility and was advised by the Council to apply for Income Support as they thought I would be entitled to around another £15 per week.
My son and daughter in law are staying with me for a while and I would like to know if this will affect a claim for Income Support.
I know that in some cases they take into account the income of others in the house.
They are not my carers although to be honest I am glad they are there because they help me so much.
They contribute towards the gas and electric and they pay for Sky for their room but they buy their own food etc.

Won't affect your DLA but it might affect your IS and any housing/council tax benefit you receive, so it is worth contacting them and advising them of the circumstances.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

They sent me a letter advising me that I might be entitled to the extra money.
Thanks.
I didn't have to pay any Council Tax when they looked at the form.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Sorry, I don't want to appear vacant but does that mean that their income is taken into account?NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Wrong - NDDs are not applicable to those on HRC.
OP, if you were the only adult in the house before you would be receiving a Severe Disability Premium on your IS. You will lose this now their are other adults in the household. Do not assume that IS are aware because you notified the Council Tax dept, you need to notify them directly.Gone ... or have I?0 -

hi
just to add to this post non dependent deductions are not applied to anyone who get any rate of dla care i.e low rate middle rate high rate if you are on any one of those you should and do not have to pay non dependent deductions0 -
I don't get Income Support yet.
I have only just applied for it.
When I recently applied for IS, they sent me 2 more forms to fill in.
One was regarding who else lived in my house (LTF1).
The other was called Extra money- Severe Disability Premium (IS10).
I assumed that I would not get IS as there are 2 ND adults living with me.
I'll be posting the forms in the morning and will let you know what the outcome is.

you cant claim IS for being disabled now, it changed in the last year or so and now only carers, single parents and a small group of other people can get it but if you were already getting it you would continue to get it for as long as you were eligable.0
