santander December statement

I have just received my santander credit card statement, their call centre tells me it's a duplicate as the original ' wasn't printed '.

I asked them to put that in writing, the operator said most of his calls this morning had been about this and he wasn't authorised do that. I must ring mon to fri and speak to their special dept set up to deal with the 80,000 or so people affected. Have they mis-sent the credit card statements as well?

  • I've also had an issue with them. I was on a 12 months interest free balance transfer, the November statement said interest due on balance next month £0.00. The December statement however has interest of £15.13 charged to it. Surely this can't be right?

I know my statement was very late in arriving. It is usually generated on the 25th of each month, but Decembers was generated on 23rd, and I didn't receive it until yesterday. I just assumed it was to do with the Christmas/New Year holidays
Debt free and staying that way!

I have not received my statement yet and they still haven't sorted out the previous mess, when they took the full outstanding balance on a 0% balance transfer card, that was only activated in August
Is there a dedicated phone line?

No they will put you through from the regular number on the statement.

My fear is they sent the original statement to someone else, as they have already done with the bank statements.

I understand you don't want your statement going to someone else (I wouldn't want that either). But how does demanding confirmation in writing of what they told you on the phone really help?

And the simple answer is, it makes absolutely no difference at all if its put in writing. It still may or may not be incorrect.

I suspected he was fobbing me off with BS,

I asked for confirmation in writing as they may have breached the data protection act if they had sent it elsewhere, his reluctance to confirm in writing worried me even more.
