Headphones come with the Xbox, which plug into the controller.
You can get a wireless set too.Dave. :wave:0 -
I don't think you don't need the Live membership at the start, my 250Gb Xbox came with a months free Gold trial. During the free month various offers pop up - I've signed up to £1 a month by credit card.0

no you dont need a subscription right away but i was going on the assumption that if he wanted xbox live eg play with his mates then may as well get 1 (but you dont have to enter the code now as you get 1 month free)Phantom_Flan_Flinger wrote: »

yes you can, theres free demos for games, theres demos of arcade games eg crazy taxi (from ps2 days) but to buy the full version of the arcade games plus some non arcade games you need microsoft points eg here but these arent essential for xbox live0 -

If you've ever bought a Playstation Network card for the PS3, the Xbox Live points work in the same way for games, map packs, avatar items, etc.Dave. :wave:0

Wireless router is fine as you'll likely be connecting via wireless anyway.
250GB version
HDMI less than £3
Check which version of headset as there are a few different types of turtle beach
Kinnect definitely needs a big room so would probably spend the money on games / headset.
Points are needed for DLC (Downloadable Content) which includes Games and Add-ons (Maps etc)
Might be worth getting some of these from Amazon as well.
Silver membership is free and you get a 1 month trial to gold.
Personally I would buy the membership from Amazon above (~£30) as otherwise you are entering cc info on the xbox and it will auto renew (usual price ~£40).
If you have any problems getting on-line with an OPEN NAT (Ideal) This website will help0
