    Hammy I normally agree with you but I think you're being a bit pompous here.
    Humour is humour wherever you find it and I too found the thought of this guy returning to his upturned car amusing.

    On a more serious note I don't see how the cars owner (or his insurers) have any liability if the damage was caused by vandals.
    Surely the circumstances are the same as if the Reliant had been stolen and driven into another vehicle. There would be no liability attributed to either the owner or his insurers.

    1. Vandals don't tend to come back and 'right' an upturned vehicle

    2. You might (depending if was the vandals) have to go through the MIB , but the MIB works by making the current (or last) insurer liable.

    Either way, the current insurer will be paying.
