Office 2003, 2007 and 2010

I have Office 2003 on my desktop and 2007 on my laptop.
I'm used to 2003 and find 2007 a bit "new-fangled" but I am slowly improving.
I have the opportunity to purchase Office 2010 Pro, through work, for the princely sum of £10. Should I go for it? It seems too good to miss.
And, as I only get 1 copy at this rate, should I update the 2003 or 2007?
All opinions welcome.

I'd advise you to check the terms of the offer carefully. In the past, MS have linked offers like this to your company's MS licence, so if they change their licence terms, or if you leave the company, you can find that your copy is suddenly no longer valid.
I decided a while back to jump off the MS upgrade wagon and move to OpenOffice. Ok, it's not ~quite~ as functional, and there are occasional glitches if people regularly send you .doc or .docx files, but the plus side is that it's always going to be free.0 -
If it's a proper licensed copy, then go for it. Office 2010 is by far and away the best office suite around at the moment.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I bought the student version of 2010 for £40 and thought that was a good deal, totally forgetting that like you I could have had a version through work for £9. It's more of an advance on 2007, rather than the fairly major change between 2007 and 2003. I'd put it where you use it most, and maybe transfer the 2007 to the desktop if you update the laptop.0

Go for it. Like Win7 to Vista, it is the package 2007 should have been.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -

Downloading! Thanks.
It was indeed £9 not £10.
Yes it's tied to the company license but I don't think that's a problem. Interestingly enough, we are still on 2003 at work as they seem more reistant to change than I do!0 -
I got it through my workplace and I'm sure it can go on my desktop and my laptop. I haven't got the terms to hand but I'm fairly certain it can be done this way.;)0

I’m guessing you work in some sort of educational establishment?
Sounds very similar to our terms of licence at work...
If that’s the case then it can indeed be installed on 1 desktop & 1 laptop. JInformation is provided as a guide only. Please do not assume that all information is 100% accurate. Information used is done so at the risk of the reader.

Sounds like the Microsoft Home User Program, I got office 2007 for £15 from work with the HUP a couple of years ago on it and claimed the £15 back on expenses. As for being tied to the company license it's not like your company are going to let Microsoft know if you leave...0

If you're involved in education, I'd suggest you go to software4students website where you can buy a full version for either £30 or £40. I can't remember which one it is, but it's the cheapest you can get without being in a works scheme...Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
