    Debt Free...yay! 10/09/2013 :j

  • That's odd I'm finding my weekly shopping bill is going down, you see I'm not loyal to any supermarket & I only buy stuff at bargain prices & search out the loss leaders! When I find them I buy loads, if they're tinned you've usually got 18 months on them so it makes perfect sense! I never go out of my way to shop at a certain supermarket either, I have a Sainsburys, Tesco, Coop, B&M, Aldi, Lidl, Netto, Morrisons and Asda all within easy reach of my home. I buy mainly premium brands & will not go over a certain price forinstance I love Branston beans but will never buy at over 25p a tin meaning I buy lots when they're 4 for £1! It's a simple strategy and it works!

The only supermarkets up here are Coop (small), Lidl and Tesco, and we also have local shops. We have to use Tesco as some things are simply too expensive/not available elsewhere! That said the Coop can be good for offers/reductions. This is why £50 a week for us is not excessive.....if only we had Aldi, Asda, Home Bargains etc :(.

I suppose it is handy when you have a choice of stores but where I live the nearest store is a tesco metro (only sells the upper end of foodstuffs) and the next nearest one which is a mile away is guess what another Tesco's but larger,in fact due to double again in size due to rebuilding in February.
Sainbobs is 3 miles away and Lidls is in Maidstone 9 miles away so Tesco seem to have the locality to where I live all sewn up. No Morrisons, and the nearest Asda is also 6 miles away, Scuzzy Somerfields in Gillingham with a very dark and rather scary underground car park full of loitering young men ,not my cup of tea.I have decided anyway that I am fed up of supermarkets full stop and I am only buying what I really need anyway so will use my local butchers, greengrocers (where I can buy if I want to three tomatoes and not 6 at a time )and fishmongers .I have a wilkinsons locally for tissues and cleaning stuff but tesco can go whistle dixie as I'm cheesed off with all the 'promos' that actually cost more in the long run.I get lots of vouchers from them true but as I'm a 68 year old lady why do they send me vouchers for nappies, or stuff that they rarely have in stock .Total waste of time . The revolution starts here :):):)
Re the easter eggs I have yet to want to buy easter eggs in the first week of January
