People wont 'Stand' for it for too long, We are TOO SOFT as a nation generally.
I am having 'Thoughts' about not going on the 'Highway' if it goes upto 1.30p
1.24.9 at Sainsburys in Halifax at the moment.
1/2 mile up the road at BP - 1.29.9Thomson 757 Man0 -
We have to 'Draw the line' at some point, Why should we pay and pay and pay etc??
People should 'BOYCOTT' the GREEDY garages FULL STOP!!
(No VAT on Aviation fuel)Thomson 757 Man0 -

Did you visit the link http://www.petrolprices.com/price-of-petrol.html ?
The garages get 5p/litre.
What we really should be pushing for is the 'fuel price stabiliser' Mr Osbourne promised us in the run up to the election.0 -

Already stated by them as being unaffordable, which most of us knew before the election anyway. Would do nothing at the moment anyway as the price changes are being driven in the main by governmental taxes and not speculation or to a lesser extent demand.
The amazing thing is even after price rises in unleaded, the UK isn't going to be much more expensive than others in EU.0 -
I filled my truck up before I finished for xmas, it cost £245 for 200 odd litres (can't remember exactly)
I filled up yesterday with 215 litres... cost £281
Obviously there is a difference on the quantities but it's within a few litres, it always roughly the same when I fill it.
This should last me until Tuesday.
Add the other 9 trucks my company runs & that £30 quid or so extra per tankful turns into a substantial amount of money per week!
Not many co's can absorb such an increase in costs so it will eventually be passed on & lead to higher prices for everything we buy.
So it's actually a "triple" whammy if there is such a thing.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
I don't understand why people have so much of an objection to the fuel companies "profiting" from fuel. After all, it is a commodity like any other. They don't invest several billion pounds in excavation just to help you get to work and back.
The alternative is to go and dig up your own oil, although it might be a while before you notice a saving.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Its not the fuel companies profit that most of us are objecting to its the amount of tax that we have to pay on the stuff especially being charged VAT on fuel duty.0 -

Ah but if you find oil, its not yours, it 'belongs' to the government.
And they then 'grant' you a licence to drill for it ..... although you would have to beat Mr B P TotalfinaessoMcshell to it .....˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ
