Hi All
My first post on here just wanted to share the cracking deal we got when our boiler had a catastrophic breakdown !
We never have that much money and got up one morning to disciver our woster bosch boiler had broken down we were beside ourselves with worry a quicj check confirmed at least one expensive part needed replacing if not more.
A quick bit of research on line found the wocester bosch site on which we found a thing called a set price repair deal where they would come and fix the boiler for a set price of £250 (at the time ) labour and any parts included it covered everything except the casing.
We booked our visit when we had the money you give them your card details but they dont take the payement until the engineer has been and fixed the boiler as he has to hook it up to his computer to finish the job and it must register on there as working in normal parameters.
The engineer was the absolute epitomy of good service he was polite efficent tidy and thorough.
The only note of caution is too make sure your boiler breakdown would cost more than £250 to repair otherwise you may as well get your local plumber to do it.
We had aprox £800 - £1000 of parts let alone the labour so we got a bargain ! :j

The alternative if you want some piece of mind is the boiler repair plans from companies such as Swalec or British Gas. They cost around £14 a month and for that you get an annual service and unlimited call outs covering parts and labour.0

I agree but they wont fix it if your breakdown happened before you bought your cover - as soon as ours was fixed we got insurance as we cant afford massive repair bills or to be without our boiler!0

Many people can't, that's why I feel these boiler maintenence plans are actually a price worth paying.
As you have found out combi boiler repairs can be horrendously expensive to fix.0 -
