Replace oil c/h tank or convert boiler to different fuel?

SandiW
SandiW Posts: 1 Newbie
Have been told that our oil c/h tank is leaking and am staggered at possible replacement tank cost. House is in non-mains gas area. Am wondering if it would be a good time to "bite the bullet" and move from extortionate oil based heating to lpg? Or even electricity. Can anyone make any helpful suggestions?
Help!
And, of course, because damage to tank is thought to be frost-related, insurance have produced sub-sub-clause to exclude cover!

A new oil tank is as little as £301 plus fitting for a single skin version.

New boiler for LPG plus tank must be approaching £2k fitted.

There are many threads comparing oil/LPG/heat pump/electricity costs.
