Low cost contract but NOT by redemption!
I would like a low cost contract which includes 50 or 100 anytime minutes and a few texts (say 20) per month.
I don't want to go down the redemption road as I would likely forget to claim the money.
Any thoughts anyone?

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'd check the networks websites, most will have that sort of deal for about £15 per month with a few phones on offer, very few contracts will be under £15 a month without some form of cashback0

The delay for the redemption is because the dealer commission (which is where the cashback comes from) is either in stages or conditional on the customer staying for a certain period.
So you might have difficulty finding the best deals without. But there are deals with other gifts added. One dealer had iPods for a while, then radar snoopers (I imagine maybe the boss got done for speeding), now PCs0
