If I pay a lump sum before min pmt date with min pmt still come out

    Halifax do this. My min payment is only £5 but they still take it even if I've paid off £50 earlier in the month. It surprised me too as I was used to Egg which only takes it if there has been no other payment (over the min)

    My Santander, Silvercard, Vanquis CCs however all still collect the direct debit regardless of any manual payments...

    I have a Santander Zero card and if I pay manually in good time it the DD amount is adjusted.

    On the rear of my statement it says that if you make a payment more than 5 days before the payment due date they will adjust the DD.

    Not sure if similar systems operate with any other banks.
