How to get the best deal

Hi all, i'm currently with 3 and have a LG Viewty, i have been eligible for an upgrade for a few months. I will upgrade to an iphone 4 but was after some advice on how to get the best/better deal. My current call plan is 200 minutes and texts for £20 a month, a plan that no longer exists.

Shall i request my PAC code straight away and see what retentions offer me?

Can i request a loyalty discount? I have been with 3 for five years now.

The deal i will be after is the £30 per month and £99 for the iPhone.

Any tips on getting a better deal?

Don't go for an iPhone. I love mine but there is very little room for deals on iPhones, Apple control the tarrifs and costs. You either pay the going rate or don't get one.

Go for any other smart phone and you'll almost certainly be able to haggle some discount, go for an iPhone and your chances are slim to none.

3 are offering some great deals at the moment. I upgraded in December on another 18 month contract and I pay £18.00 per month for 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, 5000 3 to 3 minutes and unlimited internet. Also £150.00 in Comet vouchers. The phone I have is Sony Zylo, I know most people want a BB or I phone but they do not interest me.
My son upgraded in November (under a contract in my name) and he received a BB bold 9700, 3gb internet, unlimited texts, 5000 3 to 3 minutes and either 300 or 500 minutes for £22.00 per month - 18 month contract. I think I got a loyalty bonus of £7 or £8 per month.

Kinda proves my point. You can get great discounts on any phone other than the iPhone, but you'll get very little on iPhone as a discount.

Yes I did try for the I phone for my son, but they would give me no discount, but he is over the moon with the BB as all his friends have one and they use this BB mesenger thing.
