We went once to Lloyd's bank for open joint account. We were already on this address. After checking security told us that is some problem (even I'm with them around 3 years). Then after checking US we've opened a joint account but understood from banks stuff that the problem is in the address..

    Thanks for you answer zx81

    1. If you have a bad or nonexistent credit history, and you have a joint account with your partner, then that affects your partner (and anyone else you have financial links to according to the CRAs).

    2. I don't know where your partner tried to apply for that credit card. (Judging by my own experience) Lloyds IT systems seem to throw a hissy fit on every discrepancy in your credit report data (even if the discrepancy was entered by their own systems), and you can very easily end up with a CPD marker on your account, and it is unclear how that can be removed. But while it is there, your chances of getting any further credit related products at Lloyds are greatly diminished.

    3. If you partner is not on the electoral roll on your current address but on an earlier address, some lenders or CRAs may even believe that (s)he is resident at his/her previous address.
