They are lovely, how much does the plain card cost?

I got the plain cards - 50 green, 50 red (with matching envelopes)for £10 at the Works. They are £7.99 each but you can buy 2 packs for £10.

I also bought a pack of kids craft paper from Lidl's for £1.99 which i use for doing backing/accents.

Here are the cards I made for work this year, although the design is simple and could be used for personal cards...

I made 300 of them complete with personalised, pearlescent inserts with all staff signatures which had been scanned into the PC. Now I have plenty of time to work on my own cards for family and friends. Last year I made 250 in a similar design and was featured in one of the card making publication's (Quick Cards), which led to many phone calls from people asking where I got my tree die cutter from!!!

The tree shape is made using a wooden die cutter which is compatible with the Sizzix machine (not sure about Big Shot, etc because I don't have one. It is from www.cross-cuts.com - it is cheaper to get them direct than off ebay as people charge silly-money for the dies on ebay (- I don't think they take into account the currency conversion and charge for what it is in dollars  !). They charge $9.99 (equiv. £5.23) to ship to the UK. As a guide, I bought 3 dies in one shipment and only paid $9.99/£5.23 postage! They have some lovely shapes, well worth a look!

The thing I love about dies shapes is that if you're not particularly artistic, it's really easy to create stunning cards just by sticking a shape onto a card blank! Plus, in terms of mass production, you get great value for money - lots of die cuts from a single die!

Oh, and I get my card & envelopes from http://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk/. They are absolutely brilliant, really friendly people, excellent prices on card/paper/envelopes, etc. Highly recommend them and their delivery is quick.

that looks lovely, better than anything ive seen in the shops, its lovely to make your own isnt it? :)

  • This is a joint effort between me and my 4yo daughter. We've made fingerprint snowmen on some and used stamps and ink on others. Sorry about the dodgy quality of the piccies - my photography needs improvement!:D
