Hiya, sorry you are feeling so down.

£12 pet insurance is pretty high - what pet do you have? Check out moneysupermarket.com and see if you can get a better deal. I cut my payments by £6 for my two cats - not mega bucks, but its nearly £100 over the year.

Do you have a PC (didn't know if internet was on TV) If so, why don't you see if you can get taken on by 82ask to do some evening work? See http://about.82ask.com/jobs/

Some of the MSE members have been signed up recently but they are still recruiting and it could be an answer - particularly to paying off the family debts. OK, it won't guarantee you anything by Saturday, but it might get at least some of the family paid off by Christmas which would make you feel better.

Alternatively, why don't you see if you can get a pub job - particularly over Christmas period? It is sociable and stops you spending, a bit tiring (I worked full time whilst working in a pub) but it gets you out and stops you using electricity at home. Its not mega-bucks but every little bit helps.

As tobedifferent says, you really need to keep a spending diary - as you are starting the new job Monday, make sure you make up some sandwiches and tea/coffee to stop you spending money at lunchtimes on lunch/breaks. Even if you find that tea/coffee is available to you, you are covered in case you need to pay for it. It also stops you going out at lunchtime around the shops.
I saved a lot of money (£70 per month:eek: ) by avoiding the canteen.

Its worth starting as you mean to go on!

Good luck with the new job!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

  • pet insutrance is high cos my dog has a on going medical complaint so ican switch cos he wont be covered xx

already onto getting a weekend job. am a mystery shopper too!

    thanks x
  • the person knows I dont have it but it isnt their problem as they quite rightly told them.
They are the guarantor on my rented house and are threatening to take their name off on Monday if I dont have it. If I dont have a gurarntor. I have a week to move out.

Willl this person actually carry this threat out? or are they just trying to frighten you into paying them back?

WIll the landlord accept them withdrawing their guarantor'ship so to speak - after all would they lose out cos presumably they have signed a contract.

Can you give them what you can and promise the rest when you get paid?

If I think of anything else I'll post, sorry I'm not more help,

    hugs :grouphug:
