No. IS is given those who don't have to be looking for work.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

People do know that carers can get IS but its a diffrent thing to failing ESA assessments and the incorrect information that dave has gleamed from your posts, please dont give wrong information on this board because some people will see it and believe it.
And again no if someone claims carers for you it dosnt mean that you dont have to have anymore ESA medicals dave.
I never said this ^^^. And if you read my previous posts on the subject, i did state that ESA and DLA/CA have nothing to do with each other, they are totally seperate benefits.
I was just saying that SOME dont know, especially if they are new to CA or any other benefits for that matter. SOME people do know. I didnt have a clue that i could get IS as a carer until i asked for help. I know people who have gone back onto JSA, unaware that they could claim IS as a carer.
Maybe im not too clear when i try to explain things and people get the wrong end of the stick so i apologise for that but i was just giving advice from my own personal experiences...
And im not the only one on these forums who has given the "wrong" advice...
Ive read some threads where all the posters are !!!!!ing at each other cos they cant agree on anything and totally gone off the subject!
Like i say, sorry if my posts arent as clear as they should be but i did try to explain it a bit better in another post i wrote. Some people however only read what they want to...(no offence to anyone)0 -

Hi Dave,dave030445 wrote: »so why bother getting ESA and all the medicals and pathways to work and all the stress when you can just claim IS and get left alone(if one of the couple gets CA) i dont understand
Totally agree with you
ESA is a bloody nightmare
People who are ill do NOT need the added stress of medicals, more forms to fill in, pathway to work etc
My bloke got thrown off ESA after his 4th medical even though the previous 3 medical reports said he was unlikely to be able to undertake any work in the future (hes riddled with Rheumatoid arthritis)
ESA said we could appeal and be on a reduced rate or my fella could go back to jobseekers-NEVER EVER told me i could claim IS as a carer even though they knew i was his carer and was getting CA-I found out from another organisation
Not being on ESA is better than being on it!
IS claim was straight forward, didnt go long without any money
No more medicals, pathways etc (as you say, getting left alone which is a reasonable thing to ask for when youre ill and already bombared with doctor/hospital/consultant/physio appointments)
Thousand of people in receipt of ESA are well hacked off with it!...0 -
So if I get middle rate care awarded of DLA, my OH can claim IS as a couple & CA we will then lose in effect £23.90 of IS a week from our joint claim and he will get £53.90 CA paid into his account? Then we will get the higher rate of child tax credits for the girls but no working tax credits anymore I assume, full housing benefit & council tax benefit and the healthy start vouchers? (are they still doing those or have they been scrapped now)
Sorry to hijack the thread but the whole thing confuses me!Had my amazing little girlie 08/12/2007 - 11 days late! 9lbs 3oz
My second little girl entered the world 20/03/2010 - 11 days late! 8lbs 4oz
Sealed pot challenge 4 - 332
Make £11k in 2011 £0/£11000 - 0%
And lots of other challenges!

Hey sunnyone,
Hope you get to read this post cos a havent been on much for the last couple of days. Meant to reply to you yesterday but didnt get chance..
Just wanted you to know that i didnt think you were attacking me, a little abrupt maybe but it wasnt a full on abusive attack lol!
Im quite new to this website and these forums, joined Dec 2010. Usually just come on for advice, but when i saw the OP's post on this thread, i thought "ooh,i can help this person!" I think i must have got a bit carried away when
posting as i have a tendancy to waffle on a bit when i get excited (its good to talk:)) and knowing that i could give advice to the OP made me waffle! And thats probably why my posts werent very clear...0
