Hi.
No, thats not quite right.
If you or your partner, for example, are on ESA and it ever gets stopped (ie you or your partner fail a medical) and either you recieve carers for your partner or vice versa, the one who gets the carers allowance can claim Income Support as a carer. Its a good thing really as when you are on IS, no medicals are needed. Just thought it may be worth while letting people know as im not sure that many people know.
I didnt have a clue myself until i got in touch with a local organisation who help people get what they are entitled to re benefits/DLA/carers allowance etc.
Organisations such as welfare rights, CAB and D.I.A.L are well worth giving a call0 -

People do know that carers can get IS but its a diffrent thing to failing ESA assessments and the incorrect information that dave has gleamed from your posts, please dont give wrong information on this board because some people will see it and believe it.
And again no if someone claims carers for you it dosnt mean that you dont have to have anymore ESA medicals dave.0 -
didnt think so but if you go onto IS dont you have to be looking for work0
