Struggling with car insurance....

I can only find one sensible quote for car insurance (Admiral, £1020) - and I know they're not exactly the best.
I'm 20, have 1 fault claim and 1 unresolved claim, 0 NCB as a result of the open claim and drive a group 11 (on the 20 group system) car. I live in a low risk postcode area and drive less than 8k miles a year.
Does anyone know of anywhere I can turn to that will give me anything similar to Admiral's price with perhaps a little better cover? Any other quote I've had has started at £3200.

Hi Kilty.
To be honest , seeing as you have zero ncb , 1 fault claim and 1 un-resolved claim and you are only 20 years old , the price you have been quoted by Admiral sounds like a bargain to me !
I have been doing some quotes for my eldest just to see how much car insurance would be for her if she had just passed her test and the prices i am getting are more than 3 times what you have been quoted by Admiral.
If i were you i would be accepting this quotation eagerly . As iamanalias says , Admiral are a very reputable Company. The loopy one has gone :j0 -

That price is a bargain, my son's 28 and his insurance premium has doubled this year compared to last year and some quotes were nearly £5,000 Snap it up Kilty.0 -
As said your quote is not so bad, other similar age 1st time driver in higher risk postcode areas ie manchester and london are getting quotes of £3-4k for a low insurance car group.0

i have claimed with admiral and elephant both the same company and never had any problems with them. I am 26 and have been insured with an Admiral group company i.e admiral, elephant or bell for the past six years they have always come out cheapest and it looks like i will be going with them when i renew in feb. You could try a specialist insurance broker but i have found that none can even get close to admiral and they will tell you that before going through the quote process0 -
At least they don't have the "non approved repairer" excess like my current insurer, Aviva, do. Their approved repairer did a fine job but that's not the point.
I'll keep searching, renewal isn't for 3 weeks yet.0 -

Only thing is if you take it to a non approved repairer the will not cover the cost of any courtesy car0
