We are in the same boat - they wont even take a provisional date...
Hopefully we should not have too much of an issue getting the time we want as its on a Fri in Feb! Although we will be phoning up instead of camping outside!0 -
I thought about ringing- but then I think, what if it is engaged all morning!?
Mine wont take provisional either! *sulks*
Worries me a little that 31st seems to be popular date on here... hoping it isnt popular in Chorley! lol0 -

Strange isn't it that registrars are different. Thank goodness ours will take a provisional booking. It was wierd though, when I rang them up they wanted to know the *exact* time we wanted the ceremony. Luckily we'd already got a rough plan of the day. I kind of thought a provisional booking would just be a case of booking the date...not the time as well! Oh well, just got to hang around until the 1st April and get on the phone to make the appointment to see them to do the formalities.
On the photographer front we've gone with someone who will do us a digital only service. He's only done a few weddings so far, but his pics look fab. It was quite funny though (and a bit sneaky) but we met him whilst he was manning a stand at a wedding fair for another photographer! To be honest though, if it save us £800 then I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!!
We've also booked our band for the evening. The company are trying to flog us a DJ as well, but I'm really loathe to spend a couple of hundred quid extra when I reckon I could plug an Ipod in to the bands speakers and get the same effect. What do you all think?Jan 09
Virgin CC £6800, Natwest loan £4700, NR loan £1280 TOTAL £127800 -
Hi, were getting married 3rd March 2012 too. Yeah!!
I like to be quite organised and not to drag looking at things too long, as I often find I always back to whatever I saw first, and so already we have our Church and reception booked, and I have my dress! Hoping to meet up with our photographer soon (have seen his works online and love what he does), just want to meet him in person as its all about getting on with them, thats what I've been told. SO the plans are coming together nicely, the unfortunate thing though is my Husband to be is away with work till June, so having to make lots of decisions without him, which I think is taking some of the fun out of it:(0 -
I reserved our registrar a couple of weeks ago. I wanted 2pm but someone had beaten me too it
gone for 1pm instead.
Went to a wedding fair yesterday, found a few photographers we like, agree they are not cheap!
Will start looking at dresses at the end of March.
Thats all we've done so far apart from book the venue.0 -
