Maybe a gentle reminder? "Oh the venue rang to check we till wanting the date..." may jut nudge him?
Our budget is 4k. Half of that is for reception and buying wine. Folks kindly offered to pay the 2k!
Found a photographer for £300 that will do 5 hrs, and give all pics on disk (we going to make own album at later date). My gran has offered to pay this rather than giving us wedding prezzie.
Other gran (not to be outdone) has said she will give the same amount towards something- going to have cars as didnt think we could manage this before.
I am so pleased! Means fella and I can save our ££ for the remainer and a honeymoon!
Still keeping everything MSE! Challange to self is to get everything under the 4k!0 -
Had a bit of a freak out tonight- we've provisionally booked our registrar but it isn't confirmed until we give notice. Just seen in the confirmation letter that they say to give notice ideally within 6 weeks of booking and if you fail to give notice your time may get given to another couple. It's only been 4 weeks and they haven't been in contact about cancelling our booking but am now freaking out that because we haven't given notice yet they've given our slot away. I know I'm probably worrying too much as it's only been 4 weeks since we made our provisional booking.. but the registrar is kind of key to the day!! Going to be on the phone first thing tomorrow!0

Hi Roseability, did you sort out your registrar? Ours was very specific when we made our provisional booking, we had to make an appt to give notice during April. I guess they want to stop people from hanging on to provisional bookings.Jan 09

Hi Jen-
Yes, thank goodness! Rang them at 9am this morning when they opened to book our appointment to give notice (26th April) and checked with our registrar (2 different districts just to confuse matters) and she said that would be fine. Phewwww!0 -
I'm going to try dresses on today!
I'm excited!
We've also got a meeting with the registrar on Thursday to give our noticeBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Slowlyfading how did the giving notice go? We've got our in just under two weeks and I don't know why but I'm nervous about it...too much in the press about sham marriages I guess. For some reason I'm convinced they're going to grill us! I'm sure it'll be a formality, but I'd be interested to know how you..and everyone else...got on!Jan 09

Did it this morning - they interview you separately, just questions like dates of birth, job etc., and then you sign something and that's it
it also costs you to do so, but it's straight forward. I was nervous too!
Trying on dresses was amazing - felt like a princess!Haven't decided though, so am going to hopefully try on some more dresses soon

We've booked our band for the wedding!
We went to listen to them last night and they were really good, so booked them there and then! Another thing to tick off the list of things to sort

I've ordered my dress! Deposit paid and delivery November. The designer (Tusneem) has the most bizarre sizing though. The size 6 (which I can assure you I most definitely am not - more a size 10) had a bust size of 34"! One of the women in the shop exclaimed that she was a 34 bust but was a size 12. Anyway, they're going to get it sorted for me.
It's funny though, because now I've ordered the dress I feel all fired up about organising more stuff now. There isn't much I can do though. I have contacted the guests who we've allocated the hotel reserved rooms to and told them to confirm their booking when convenient, but to let me know if they don't want the room. H2B reckons it's far too early to be telling people that, but I'm thinking we don't want anyone turning round 3 weeks before and saying they don't want a room as guess who will have to stump up for it!
I think I'm a bit OCD about this wedding already - maybe I need a holiday to get away from it all!!Jan 09
