Ground Source Heat Pumps

Thank you very much. I really thought I had done some serious damage.
My heat pump offers days of the week to run it at peak temperature. It was set at 45C for normal temperature I increased to 55 and then I had the problems. I think it needs to be at 55 so that it increases to 60 one day a week. That is to prevent Legionnaire's disease. I will let it cool down and investigate further later. Thank you. Glad I didn't call out an engineer 😬.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Glad I didn't call out an engineer 😬.You can always just run the hot tap for a while whilst keeping your eye on the GT3 value. The GSHP should kick in at 2deg below whatever temp you've got the DHW set to (assuming DHW hysteresis is factory setting of 4deg).
Whatever you set the DHW to, it'll always go over that value anyway. It'll cut off once GT9 (heat fluid in) hits 2deg above the DHW temp setting, and GT9 lags GT3, so it usually overshoots by 5deg on my system. For example my DHW target is 50deg, and GT3 peaked at 55.6deg before the GSHP cut off. It'll kick in again when GT3 gets down to 48deg.1 -

Hello. I've just joined here and this is my first post and am hoping for some advice please. Here's our situation:
My husband and I live in a 2 bed bungalow of modest proportions (approx 12m x 10m) and as we live in the country we have oil to heat the property. However, we are just about to convert a substantial barn on the same site (a double height barn (18m x 6m but with upstairs rooms), with a single barn attached (20m x 7m). We would like to change from oil for the bungalow and install ground source to supply both the new build barn and existing bungalow, if possible. At this point, I'd state that we have erred towards ground source rather than air source based on limited research and a few conversations with people. We would like to house the plant machinery (is that the right term??) in the garage and install the curly pipework in the 4 acre field next to the garage (enough for the pipework, I'm guessing?). The barn is 40m away from the garage and the bungalow is 60m away. We are also considering installing solar panels on the garage roof. The questions rolling around our head, keeping us awake :-):
1 Is this length of pipework (40m and 60m) acceptable/ viable?
2 An estimated cost of installation?
3 Recommended companies, based on price/ value and quality?
4 Best pump for the job for both properties (if applicable)?
5 Estimated bills?
6 Estimated payments (from the RHI?)?
7 Re the barn, would it work best with radiators or underfloor heating, or combination?
8 What grants may be available?
9 Can we have a grant for both solar and ground source?
10 Is energy stored? Can it be used later?
11 We have power cuts occasionally, does that have an impact?
Apologies for all of the questions and my naivety on this subject. Any help and advice greatly appreciated.
PS If there are any other alternatives that might be considered please feel free to advise. Many thanks.

beardymarrow said:It's worth taking the motor box off the valve to see if that moves OK when activated. Hopefully you'll only need to replace the motor box (actuator) or the valve, not both. Is it an lk or an esbe? Sounds like an lk from your description. The lk is a lot more reliable, so if it is an esbe I'd recommend replacing the whole lot with an lk. I can give you part numbers for what I used on my e11.
i seem to have a problem with my 3port valve. It is esbe, and need to replace it but nit sure what model i would need . Could you advise please.Thanks0 -
