Opinions on blackberry vs HTC

My phone contract is up for renewal and i dont know what phone to get next.

At the moment i have a blackberry bold 9000 which i love to bits (and which i was planning to keep and go to a sim only deal when contract expires, but now the rollerball has decided to stop working!)

I was considering getting a cheaper phone, this time (am paying £30 per month for BB) but in my heart really want the BB bold 9700, if the HTC had been a huge saving over the contract, i would be picking that, but it seems to only be about £5 a month cheaper.

I really dont want the iphone (because everyone seems to have one now and i have a real problem with the way apple seem to control what you can do via itunes etc)

Basicially i cant make up my mind between a touch screen HTC or the bold and wanted peoples opinions, before i call up 3 and see what if any retention deals they will offer me.

The main thing i love about the BB is that you can read the screen in any light and it automaticially changes the screen brigtness to suit the lighting - this may sound a small thing, but its very useful!! Do any other phones do this now or is it still mainly the BB?
