CPW/OneStop/e2Save clearance phones
I've lumped all these retailers together as we know they're the same firm
My particular dealings have been with OSPS, I ordered a 'clearance' Sony Ericsson K750i back in August, it was faulty when it arrived (camera didn't work). It took 2 months to get another one off them as they were supposedly out of stock, yet they were still advertising them on their web site. The replacement was also faulty and I'm waiting for another from them, 3 months after my original was delivered I still haven't got a working handset.
BUT my real point is this, before I sent the 2nd one back I looked at it's useage using a tip I found elsewhere to access the service menu and found it had over 94 hours of use yet this is what their website says a clearance phone is:
"These items are either ex-demonstration, trial or mail order returned. These are not flawed products although they may carry very minor cosmetic marks."
This would appear to suggest that they are virtually new, clearly they aren't.
with both phones sent to me I could see the silver labels under the battery was not stuck down too well, clearly they simply put new covers on old phones and send them out.
Buyers beware!

Can you share this tip with us since I think many people would like to access that menu for the same reasons as you!0

press the 'navigation button' (that's the joystick to you and me) and star button in the following sequence;
right, * , left, left, * ,left, *.
This will bring up the 'service' menu and it's in there. I can't tell you exactly where 'cause I don't have a bloody phone to do it on!
p.s. also works on w800 and I think most SE handsets see https://www.esato.com, it's under firmware faq's0 -
I had a clearance v3i from CPW back in March - it's condition was 'well used' to say the least! Returned it in-store the next day and cancelled the contract, didn't bother chasing up on another.
Recently bought a refurb samsung D800 from the Link - as good as new!0 -
I got a Motorola V620 and it is refurb but the board when on it and then the front flash ring is broken and they losted one of the screws. Are these people thick. Keep all of the screws for the phone with the phone. Oops one screw is missing never mind the customer will not notice.0

lol yea those people are thick
Are you trying to call me thick just because of my spelling and grammer. Thats really good well done taking the !!!! out of a dyslexic. And if the CPW cant fix phones without breaking them more and losing screws then they should not work in the business.0 -

Kurt, I couldn't agree more:beer: Having a young son who is badly dyslexic I can understand your anger at the ridiculous post by jassi_9, who should be hanging his/her head in shame
Edited to add - jassi_9's abusive post reported to MSE.0 -

Thanks for your input and I take the point that demo phones will have some useage, but they're not switched on when on display and 94 hours is some demo-ing isn't it?0
