Lol. He's out of Pink Floyd.

  • Do it on your own time and expense pls.

I don't think you actually realise how expensive these concerts are to put on, even though you can't really compare his concerts to Floyd's. When touring they took about 30 large trucks with them to carry all the equipment and special effects. So they do go to a great deal of time and expense in organising these concerts, for very little profit.

if i had half Roger’s or Dave’s money i wouldn't need to be on here! But quality costs. This may be the last tour so keep your merchandise folks. Shame we didnt get the reunion tour after live 8. Good posting thanks. And as for who is roger, once heard a national radio DJ state seriously 'and here is pink floyd doing a cover of the excellent scissor sister song'....god help us! i am so glad i educated my kids in quality music. wonder if i can get a family ticket.

Apparently (according to hubby), big tours usually lose money which is why they get sponsorship. Like the last Pink Floyd tour in '94 was sponsored by Volkswagen.

yep i agree... talking of genesis, once upon a time phil collins in response to a persistant heckler paused the show and said something along the lines of "Look mate this year i've earned over £20 million so i dont need to be here, i'm up here is to give everyone a good time" (ok he phrased it better but i cant find the exact words off hand). Some bands earn big from touring, some lose... yes £50 is a lot but not as much as some charge!

You can read it in any of the band's autobiographies. Infact on the one tour (think it was the final cut) the only people who made any money were the ones who were paid a piece rate.
