Orange

I'm having major problems with my phone (HTC Desire) and provider (Orange).

Foolishly I moved from O2 (with whom I had absolutely no problems) to Orange about 7 months ago. Since then, it has been problem after problem after problem and I don't know where I stand.

Some of the problems are, but not limited to, the following:

Calls regularly drop.
Calls regularly connect but the person on the other end cannot hear me.
Text messages will regularly not send despite the phone showing a full signal.
Text messages regularly show as sent but do not arrive at their destination.
3G regularly drops, as does any other form of connectivity to the internet (despite other Orange handsets around me being fine).

Orange replaced my first handset when the previous one lost 3G altogether and the latest one seems no better. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the sim card.

I've now rang Orange 6 times to report these faults. The first 3 calls were, seemingly, ignored and the 4th Customer Service Adviser I spoke to was appalled at the service I'd received. He assured me that he would now personally see that my problems were solved and call me back the next day. He also said he'd keep on top of the situation to make sure everything was OK long term. He never called back.

I also sent an email 72 hours ago that has been ignored.

Do I have any rights as a customer? Surely they have an obligation to provide a better service than this.

Strictly speaking I'd like for my contract to be torn up as, to me, it's not worth the paper it's written on. Failing that, I'd like to get another make/model of phone as I have lost all confidence with my current one.

Where do I stand?

Many thanks.

HHMM.

  • Hi,

May I suggest writing to the following address executive.office@o range.co.uk as per my earlier. I received a full and very satisfactory response within 24 hours from a lady called Julie Malipass (0870 870 0862). That's her Direct Dial Number.

    Good luck.

Orange have no 0870 numbers for any staff.

I think that take you to CS, but its free if you just use 150. . .
