Well today has been part productive. Managed to sell an office chair had for sale for a month. Went for £40 (£10 deposit paid New Year's Eve) and another £20 paid to me today with £10 to come. So in my purse I have £25 and the chq is due to clear soon which was £25 so £50 in total. Will put petrol in Monday morning, amount yet to be decided although I will beed £20 to see me through the week.
Then on Tuesday I will also put in the pennies I have found as I can get to the bank Tuesday lunch times from work.
On a down side I had a letter from gas and electrice company saying my DD was returned which they shouldn't have tried to take until end of Jan so god knows what's happened there but I know it will mean a charge from the bank - lloyds! Joy.
The DD is for £136 so no doubt I will now be told I owe 2 lots!
They open again on Monday so will ring them from work and adjust next months' budget to suit.....why did I get myself in this mess!!!! Will just focus on getting out of it instead of why in it as I know I will never get into it again.
I have listed some other things in the paper for £30, £50 and £25 so I hope I get something from them.
Trying to think what else I can sell! haha
Hope everyone's having a better weather day than here - raining, grey and miserable all day so I haven't even been able to walk to the shop as hoped.Debt - CCV £3792

Hi DF2012,
Welcome to the boards, I've subscribed to your diary mainly cos I'm hoping that I will be DF in 2012 if not before. Ideally before as I couldn't cope still being in debt in 2012.
I love your comment about the £6 in pennies, I witnessed in the bank a girl paying a bill or into an account in loose change. As she left the tellers all started to snigger behind her back. Unfortunately for them I'm not the type of person to let that go, at all! So I promptly reminded the teller that it was all legal currency and had the queens head and therefore was as an acceptable method to pay as any other. I then told her that I would come in a pay my CC in change when I was paying the final balance. As you can see from my signature I'm nowhere near my final payment but that promise to the bank teller still stands.
Aside from that, the lady who paid the loose change gave me an idea. There's a jumped up 'lady' who works in the Halifax. Each month I empty my piggy bank and shimmy on into the Halifax and pay the loose change in. After she counted the first £32.32 she has been as nice as pie ever since. Karma I call it, or it also reminds me of the 'confessions of a shopaholic' scene where she pays off her debt in change.
I check my CC statement every month but some months I wish I didn't as when you pay just the min payment it clears so little. I used to over pay alot but recently things have been tough and I can't, which is frustrating.
Anyway I'm away to do some boring paperwork.
Pop back soon.

Woowoo,
She was mortified. Cheeky mare!! How dare she...for all she knew that might have been all the girl had. Banks....they're like GP's receptionists or airport security staff...all far too above their own station. Apologies if anyone here is in any of the previous mentioned professions. xx£38,000 and change to £00 -

I totally agree with both of you. I get the "look" once a week when I pay my pennies into the BS - they even have a machine which counts it all for you and prints a receipt (like the coinstar ones in supermarkets without the charge for using it) - when I then pay in £3.21 or something I get either the "can't believe you are wasting my time" look or the "aww poor you living in poverty" look - HA!
DebtFree2010 - I used the link you posted on Woo's diary. Chin up, we used to be the same having DDs bounce etc and although I am still very much in debt and quite often can't make many overpayments, I am on top of my finances in the fact at least everything gets paid on time - hope that's a glimmer of hope for you and a lot of it's down to the support from these forums. Are you able to get a 2nd job to top up - I know personally how hard that is with kids as I have a nearly 3 yr old myself but it really does help xxLoan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. As if it is Monday again already
– have we even had a weekend? It’s flew past and I even got up earlier than normal to try and feel the benefit of it. Booo!
I suppose when it’s flying past it means pay day is here quicker. Saturday was spend with the kids and OH, he treat us to breakfast out then we nipped to the shops for some painting things (OH bought). Ended up not painting until Sunday though haha as we had a lazy Saturday afternoon and then company came round. Nice night in on Sat night and Sunday was lunch at parents which was nice too but I know once we’ve had lunch it means the Sunday night time routine starts for the next week and that’s the end of the weekend.
I’m on top of everything at home to try and make the week as stress free as possible, all the clothes are out for me and the kids for the whole week so just need to take out wardrobe night before, meals are planned and using up freezer contents and all I need to do on a night is the packed lunches for following day along with the washing when required (usually daily in our house!).
I think I said but if not, I returned to work from 7 months maternity leave on 4th Jan so still getting back into the swing of things and dealing with not seeing the kids every day, just on morning and night. It’s very hard and a shock to the system. All that’s keeping me focussed is the thought of work are paying me a decent salary that will clear my debts and allow me to do lots of lovely things with them and OH. I can’t wait until I treat him to little and big treats as he always treats me and doesn’t ask for anything in return or even complain/mention it. I live close to where I work so that’s a bonus as I leave at 430 and home by 445 however on a morning I take the kids on 40 min (20 mins there/back) to MIL then go to work so that’s where petrol/time goes on morning.
I put £10 petrol in this morning as that’s all I can spare but going to need some more by tomorrow night so it’s going to have to go on CC which makes me feel sick.
Money’s looking like this until pay day next Tues. Cheque in bank on fri for £25 which hasn’t cleared yet, maybe wed will have. £30 from chair sale but only received £20 of it so far so £10 to come. Of that £20, 10 went in petrol this morning and spent £5 I had in purse on Sat night which couldn’t avoid. So I am left with £10 in purse and £25 to clear. I still owe Cap1 the £12 odd from last months payment and I still haven’t been able to pay Virgin’s min payment for Dec. Sigh.
Tomorrow I have my pennies to put in the bank which will go straight to CC and need the £10 in purse for this week’s groceries. Once chq cleared will pay Cap1 and put remaining in petrol. I think I will have to use CC to put petrol in for the end of the week.
Something you maybe wondering is about OH and why not borrow from him and pay back etc. Long story short and please don’t judge) but he doesn’t know anything about my D and I intend to keep it that way. That’s also why it’s so important for me to clear this D as soon as possible as it chews me up daily that I am in this situ without him knowing. So there’s no one I want to ask to lend me anything – I got myself into this mess and by hell am gonna get myself out of it.
Need to count my pennies today to see what I can pay into the bank tomorrow lunch time. Does anyone know if they have to be in bags of £1 or something?
