    You appear to have to anti virus products installed - Avast and Symantec.

    Having two anti viral products installed can cause conflicts and cause slowdowns.

    You need to remove one of them.

    I agree there is stuff within the log that could be removed but the bigger issue is the two anti virus products. Sort that first and then remove startup entries that are not required.

    The list has shortened considerably and commit charge is down to 183/1106 which I'm assuming is a good thing! There still looks like a few things on the list that I don't actually use or have never heard of!

    did you install cleanmem?

    after that, it's as clean as it can be, apart from one thing - could you post a list of services running, by going to the command prompt (start, run cmd) and typing

    net start

    then click on top left hand corner of the cmd box, to edit/mark, edit/copy and paste into the thread

    then do the same with these commands
