Oh and I've decided to try to live on half my wage from now on. That'll be fun...saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

I've applied to do the Census this year. Not had the interview yet. I'm in Scotland so its a slightly different role but they pay £700 on completion. I don't get paid overtime either and have variable shifts so can't commit to a PT job unless I can pick and choose the hours.0

Get a change pot! It adds up much quicker than you think if you empty your purse of change every other day or so.
Quidco (or any another cashback website) is great. I do everything I can through it, I even got something through Quidco the other day that was only £1.50 and got 4p cashback, but it's better than nothing and lots of 4p's add up.
Then find the best savings account and pile everything in it.0 -
Lol, our variation on the change pot idea is part of our new years resolutions to stop swearing! £1 for an F or an S, and £5 for a C, which will only cost H2B money because i never say that!saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

Definitely agree about the small cashbacks - they all really add up! Plus on Topcashback I also do the free cashback things - 1p for doing a search a day, or money for downloading vouchers (that I often don't use!)

The swear box is a great idea!!:)
Am also doing the (spare) change pot though it has nothing but 1, 2 and 4ps in it
Still it must all mount up.
Lots of ideas in my head at the mo on how to make some more money, but not sure how many are that feasible - what with working full time etc.0 -
We have 2 of those pots you break to open, one we put £2coins in and the other is for small change. We have over a year to go (already had it 4 months) and I know one person that managed to save £1000 worth of £2 in hers (over 2 years).0
