    Is your router connected to the Virgin Cable Modem via ethernet cable as well? If so, you shouldn't be having any problem at all. Your computer may have have a built-in wireless connection, and if you don't need or use it it should be turned off (disable in Device Manager - access via Control Panel). That will stop the computer itself trying to connect to other wireless access points.

    Can someone techie please help? On main computer, when trying to access various sites line keeps dropping and tries to connect to Bt open zone.

    OP appears to be using two computers, one wired and one wireless but she's not made it not clear if that is the case?

    Just the main computer. That is wired and that is the one that keeps dropping and trying to connect to Bt open zone/BT Fon.
