Mobile Phone return - Unhappy with the product.. (Possibly faulty.)
Hey,
I purchased a Nexus S yesterday from The Carphone Warehouse and I'm not to pleased with the performance, norr the quality...
I played with the display phone instore and a memeber of staff showed me around it.. seemed pretty cool.
Now i've got it home though and played with it for a while i'm pretty put off...
I'd rather a refund then a replacment or a swap-in...
I still have all the original packaging & receipt etc..

Thanks

- The phone has trouble connecting to my WiFi, and when it does it'll have a very low signal (even though i'll be sat right next to it).
- The battery life is dreadful.
- The feel of the phone is just cheap.
- And overall, it didn't perform aswell as the one on demo...

If you bought it from a store and it works then they arent obliged to take it back. Depends on CPW policy. The wi-fi problem would be enough for me to want to return it as faulty.0

Sitting right next to the wifi is not the best location, you need to be a few feet away at least. Some phone suffers the same with bluetooth if you try and find a phone that is right next to the phone searching.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Faulty will get you a repair or a replacement. Not a refund. Battery life and 'feel' are not faults. The reasons you are coming up with will not get you out of your contract. Always buy online so that way you get the 7 days cooling off period. Buying in-store gives you no such rights. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I agree with what you say about battery life and feel, however faulty may get a refund. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/after_you_buy/know-your-rights/mobiles/0 -
Battery life gets better the more times it's charged. That's the way they work, I can't see that being a reason that they'll take it back. A smartphone battery will only last about 2 day any way. . .0

Might be able to return it for repair then .- The battery life is dreadful.

- Thats your problem you bought it its not been changed .

- Again you would need to define that could be you have not set up the phone .
Alternative is to stick it on Ebay as lots of the modders are buying the phone .

Smartphones usually need charging every day really. Especially when it's new and you play with it a lot!
Wifi and GPS are massive battery drainers, so only have them on if you need them at the time, (you'll be able to tell by the heat the battery will be generating when it's using these)
Ditto for Bluetooth, although although to a much lesser extent.
Look for a forum for your phone, something like Mocado, there will be tips buried in there for battery life etc.
As a long time-served Windows mobile user, I have a car charger and a spare usb cable at work to run off my laptop to top it up if necessary.
The battery never will last that long per charge, although you should get a couple of days from moderate use I would have thought?I am a Mortgage Adviser
