Think I have a virus! Pc won't load.

Hi, my pc has been playing up for a few months, crashing, error screen, etc. For the past few weeks I haven't been able to use the pc at all. I can't open safe mode either, pressing f8 does nothing. Pressed f11 & did the full system restore, but still no change. I have the xp disc so decided to wipe my pc & start again but…

Do you have a backup of your documents? Sounds to me like your hard drive is on its way out.

Very unlikely to be a virus as they don't do this sort of activity nowadays. They aim to stay hidden in the background and steal your bank details, not break your machine as there is no money to be made doing that.
