I suggest you fence your garden, or the part of it you will let the dogs into. There is really no impossibility involved as I have a similar situation with trees at the end of my garden. I simply bought some metal 'push stakes' frm B and Q and some quite soft plastic covered fencing, it is similar to chain link but a lot softer and it doesn't need straining wires, I didnt even need OH's help. Stakes into ground, fencing attached, very long tentpegs from the bottom of the fence into the ground to stop the blighter getting nose/head under the fence, BINGO! instant 4 foot high fence which passed a homecheck.
It won't keep out burglars but it will keep the dog in and that is all that is required, a bit of effort. OK it cost me about £70 so it could cost you a couple of hundred if your length is longer but it's a lot better than a dog run over in the road. My dog was rehomed from someone who couldn't be bothered to fence their garden as it was 'impossible' due to the size of the garden - I think that where there is a will, there is a way, to be honest.
Not quite sure if this is it but it looks similar

You contact them here, they will send out a homecheck volunteer who will first contact you via phone to arrange a suitable time.
I adopted my 2 white longhaired GSD's from the rescue.
The lady who runs is Jayne Shenstone, who is lovely and very knowlegeable. Good luck.
That is the one I had in mind too
My friend volunteers for them as a home checker, and she also got one from them, a lovely old beige GS girl...
They have dogs of all ages and all over the UK really...
Congratulations on your pup and good luck with finding another one
