Oh my word! I hope I can find that on the website!

ETA - thinking of the work of the Prince's Trust - I'm watching the Fairy Jobmother, in my home town - oh my word, its why I left, and its still going on in parts of my city .... so awful. The need for the sort of help that his charities make available is still absolutely huge. You go for it, cheri!
KC - Shhhhh I used to work for the jobcentre in your home town which is where I first became involved with the Princes Trust. I am so passionate about the work of the Princes Trust and the opportunities it gives to young people who are, all too often, overlooked. I have never worked for them but as soon as I got my current job I was determined to build a partnership with them to help them get involved. As for the Jobfairy, I havent seen it but I do know the women as she used to work for an organisation that was linked to the JC. Not sure I would want to watch it to be honest. Some people need help not patronising.
You might have to give us a clue though :o Not sure I can sit through the whole hour and a half! Come on then, when do you appear?? :D
I appear several times throughout the clip. Apparantly the polevaulting chair was on the BBC coverage not the link that I have in there. Although me running up the steps is on there. It is near to the end. I am in there quite a few times in the background

My feet are up, glass of wine on the table and I am so chilled out tonight. I actually stood next to the Royal Harpist before the ceremony started, I pointed out that the electric cables needed a rug over them (sorry I cant help myself) before somebody tripped over them. I was then sat fairly near so yes I heard all of the pieces that she played. I also heard Men Aloud in the Millenium Centre. the RAF brass band, but the best was the childrens choir who were fantastic and serene.

It was truly a day to remember for the rest of my life. There was just one downside to it. Last night while sitting in the hotel room I realised that my Mum and Dad weren't around to share and got quite emotional. Soon passed though with all the texts and messages from friends coming in. I am so rubbish at keeping secrets so this near killed me.

Cheri, it was interesting - there was one bloke, my age, but real old school, ranting about Maggie Thatcher the milk snatcher - she turned up at his house with fish and chips, and they really bonded. She nearly lost him a few days later when she ranted a bit about his dirty shirt that he'd brought as typical interview wear, but she got over it, and they were laughing together as she did his tie up for him. Even he ended up with a job, tho after the programme end. I was very impressed, I couldn't have done it. Don't know if I'd want her helping me tho!

Have a good time the rest of this week - I bet you're still on Cloud Nine!

Aw thanks for the wonky sqush Pip, I loved it. Glad I made you laugh. Mr C has seen it but I havent seen the vaulting bit. He may be winding me up but I know that he cant be because I did jump over a chair.
KC. If it worked for that man then that is great. I still have to say that when I met her I found her to be quite abrasive and easily jumped to conclusions about why people acted a certain way. The dirty shirt is a typical example. Who knows why somebody may have a dirty shirt there could be 100s more reasons than they are lazy. I know some of the most particular people who would be oblivious to the fact that they havent showered for 3 days and smell a little, usually because they are in a bad place but people dont always think of that. It is too easy to judge and if you are there to help people then you need to consider this. For example nobody would tell an aneroxic to just have a good meal would they? Sorry - pet hate of mine rearing head.

I am struggling today with a financial institiution. They should have moved some money to my account at the beginning of June and they havent. Despite numerous calls I am getting the runaround. If that money doesnt hit my account by Monday then I will be in danger of missing a deadline for a contract to exchange to euros. I bought when the price was high and need to have the money with them by next week or face breaking the contract and having to pay the difference (which is considerable) in the price I agreed and the price it is now. Added to that I need the money to then be transferred to the Austrian account for the deposit or I will be in breach of contract with them also. Why oh Why do call centres not employ people with 1) Manners and 2)brains? They have promised to ring me back in one hours
    My mantra for today
I will be calm, I will be collected, I will not wring somebodys bloomin neck.

Positive vibes that they ring you as promised Cheri and that it all goes through smoothly. I used to work for a bank in the days before they used call centres and I think we were trained better. In my day you had to work your way up from office junior and get a good grounding in all aspects of banking. xx

I know what you mean Elli, I used to work for the benefits agency and that was how we worked. You had to know about all benefits, be able to adminster them clerically and have good customer service skills. By dealing with people personally and being responsible for that individuals welfare benefits it made people realise that these were real people's lives that we were impacting upon. Call centres today are not geared to that and no individual responsibility is attached which, added to the poor training, working to scripts and low pay means that customer service is seen only as meeting targets irrespective of the customers actual satisfaction with the way that are dealt with.

By 2pm I had decided that I had had enough stress and by sitting waiting for the phone to ring I was just getting more annoyed. So I tootled off to the Arts Centre to meet Mr C for lunch. They were filming the Antiques Roadshow so we pottered around the gardens watching people being filmed and hearing how much things were worth. I do so hope that I dont turn up on the BBC looking like one of those nerdy types in the background who are peering over shoulders! I dont know how much more exciting can one week get?

In other news I pottered into the local supermarket by the Arts Centre and I managed to do a Pippi, I got 2 litres of milk on offer for 40p. Well actually I ended up buying 4x2 litre bottels and I have put three in the freezer - I can do that right? I also got a bottle of Hock on offer for £2.00 YIKES I couldnt leave it there for that price could I. Toilet Rolls were on offer 9 rolls for £2.00 and bran flakes for 10p per box (3x) things like this never happen to me.

Add into the mix opening up my emails and I got two emails from friends who I used to work with in two different offices and I havent heard from them forever. One is coming on holiday in her caravan here this weekend for 2 whole weeks I am so excited. The other is a man who I adore, I was accused of having an affair with him by my ex at one point but it would never be the case. We were such good friends and he is hilarious. So that was a lovely surprise.

My week (despite the hiccoughs today) has been the best ever and I am grinning from ear to ear. This calls for a trip to my favourite beach, then chips from the chippy whilst sitting on the prom. It is my day off and I have saved a fortune
