Pet insurance vetsmedicover

HI
i am looking at getting a new dog insurance for my pet and found this one https://www.vetsmedicover.co.uk and justy woundered if anyone else out there has had any experiences with them?
it sounds a bit too good to be true so i wanted to see if anyone else has a policy with them or not?
the dog insurance is £18 a month regardles and a cat insurance is £14 you dont even get higher premiums if you claim it just stays at £18.
i have tried looking up reviews on them but i can not find a thing only a couple of people asking about if they are good or not so if anyone can help i would be greatful.

thanks
Thanks every1 for making this website what it is, its helped me alot in the past!

The actual underwriter of the Policy (Whitehorse) have a very very bad reputation for travel insurance although I have never had any dealings with them over anything apart from Travel Insurance.

If they are anything like they are on travel claims it would be worth ignoring them although they may be ok on pet insurance
  • Oh ok thanks i will google them now, thanks again

You can also find out about Whitehorse in relation to travel by doing a search of the MSE forum for "Whitehorse" there is a search box at the top of the page, make sure you select search forum

Just read the small print Good Boy. More Than are reasonable with their premiums but it is not true 'life cover' and you have to pay 10% of the vet bill over and above the excess. Hopefully you don't have to claim, but it's just a gamble you take.
  • thanks, i think i am going to go with vetsmedicover all i can think is no news is good news! as soon as something bad happens it spreads like wildfire soo that can only be a good sign!

    ill update if anything happens!
please still let me know if there is any news on them tho as i will be getting the insurance if a few days!

    regards

  • I think this company is excellent,

having shopped around i was going to go with homebase, (which rated them very well) however they seem very impressive and the reviews on the internet have been 5 star good luck

Would they be the reviews from people who have only ever reviewed vets medicover and given 5 stars which is highly suspicious as is someone signing upto MSE just to post the type of review you have left.

Please note the Underwriter of the Vets Medicover policy is Whitehorse who have a very very bad reputation with Travel Insurance, what they will be like on Pet Insurance is anyone's guess but if you go by their Travel Insurance they are one to avoid.

Here are some reviews for Whitehorse http://www.ciao.co.uk/Whitehorse_Insurance__6494978

Hi, I am about to take up cover with vetsmedicover and just wondered if they have been as good as they sound on their website - I see that you were going to insure with them. Looking forward to your reply, many thanks
