ok, will do :) happy to help others.

anyhoo, we went up to TN and got the courtesy car (chevvy spark in snot green with signwriting lol) and i got the manager to sign a letter to say we're paying under protest. :)

another thing that disgusts me tho is that yes we can both drive their courtesy car, BUT they excess is £2,500!! to avoid that and to bring it down to £100, we have to pay a £10 fee! what a flipping rip off!! we have no choice tho, no way we can afford a prang in it otherwise, not that we're intending to have a prang in it. i hope our lucks not that bad!!

they cant fix our car till next weds cos they cant get the parts, but we've got this car till ours is fixed

got the car back today :D but its spluttery :( not happy.

got a letter from "Lawgistics" (sounds like a phoney name to me lol) acting for TN, saying basically i was cheeky to say its their fault after they gave me such a massive discount. "therefore we do not believe our clients have any further liability in this matter".

  • if it were part of the kit, then they technically have broken manufacturers recomandation, if it werent recomended these cams are change with the belts the pully wouldnt be part of the kit would it. ask chevvy uk's head office to send you the manufacturers recomendations on changing timing belts on the tucuma confirm these should be done when the belt is changed then you got em.

took the car for a long run today, but it made no difference. the engine is sluggish in the lower gears/speed and it "judders" when accellerating in 2nd and 3rd gear (mainly) when the foot is not on the clutch

i have sent my complaint online to http://www.motorcodes.co.uk/ on advice from the CAB. if they cant sort it, it goes to arbitration, then court.

car engine seems to be settling down, but may well take it back later int he week

it turned out that when TN sent the head away to the engineers to have the valves redone, they didnt take the spark plugs out & the acid that the engineers put through it damaged the ceramics of the plug. they showed me one plug. it had a black line running vertically down the ceramic bit. a new set of plug (free of course) and it goes like stink off poop :D

oh, the motor codes ppl wrote to me today saying that basically they cant sort it themselves, so they've sent the case to 3rd party arbitration. arbitrators will contact TN and try and sort it out & i have to wait for an answer.

fyi Chev UK never did write back and say what their policy is on changing cambelts, despite me sending a letter recorded. how rude!!
