On his simple suppers show a couple of weeks ago he was showing recipes that can be stretched over a week. He made veg patch stew which I have found the recipe for the veg patch stew but not the cheese cobbler topping. Does anyone have it?

They didn't post it but the episode is still on i-player. Hope that helps.
The veg patch stew I made with some variations according to what I had and then used it the next night, baked in the oven, topped with feta cheese and breadcrumbs. It was very yummy. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
found on i player but he doesnt give quantities0

Cobbler is just scone mix cooked on top of a casserole, so make up some cheese scone mix and away you go.If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0

Hi drinkup,
You'll find some recipes in this thread:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the tips and advice together.

We watched a recording of Nigel Slater making a lovely veg 'stew' (a bit like ratatouille) last night - I don't know how long ago it was broadcast. The second night he heated the veg up and then put a cheesy cobbler topping on top. It looked really nice and my OH said he definitely eat that. Since he hates pastry and scones and things like that it was a breakthrough and I intend to try it, but he wiped the recording and now I can't find the cobbler recipe. I KNOW it's v easy but I never make such things and can't remember what Nigel did - does and kind person out there have the cobbler recipe, please ?0

The usual topping for a cobbler is a scone mixture I believe. You could try using something like this:
175g self-raising flour
½ tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp dried rosemary
25g butter
50g grated parmesan cheese
1 egg
6 tbsp milk (save some for the glaze)0 -
You should be able to get it on I player. I did cobbler dumplings the other day. I used this roughly but used milk and added a bit of lemon juice to make them light.

Hi morganlefay,
There was a very recent thread asking for the same recipe that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.
