i just got the iphone on 3. im not overly impressed with the performance when getting on the net or downloading a video on utube.when im downstairs in my house it cant conect, but if i go upstairs then no probs at all.i live in town center so covage should be fine.i spoke couple of mates on voda & they said 99% of the time no probs.i have 10 days till i suposidly i can take it back no QS asked which im really considering espeacialy as voda have offered me a half decent deal.but i have read a few reports on here that a few people have left voda & gone to 3 & the iphone works best on the 3 network..your thoughts/exsperiance would be great.
ps the performance/speed is great when i got full signal, but when iv have 1 or 2 bars it cant conect

My hubby has his iphone connected to our wireless network when he's at home as we have zero coverage on 3 at home. It works just fine doing it that way, is that an option for you?

I think you will find you are now stuck with the IPhone now you have used it. This is 3s return policy.

    14 day returns policy.

If you are a new 3 customer and for some reason you are not happy with 3, you can return your mobile and original boxed accessories, including any additional free promotional items you may have received with your order, along with your proof of purchase, within 14 days of receipt to us and we will give you a full refund.
In order to be eligible to return your mobile under the 14-Day returns policy you must not have used your handset to make or receive calls or texts, take photos, or download content.
If you've only used your phone to activate it via iTunes you'll still be able to return it to us.

ah the small print.the salesmen in the shop didnt mention that bit,my fault in away for not reading the small print but how the hell do you know if it works properly or not with out trying it...i did reiterite sevral times with him & said i could return it with in 14days no QS asked as i know what a pain in the a.r.s.e. there customer services are
ps just round my mates house,no 3 signal at all but 2 bar on voda,so i guess 3 still have bit of krap network
  • There is no reason why the coverage should be fine just because you live in a town centre unless you are sure there is a Three mast nearby. You say you are getting a signal (even if it is poor) so I don't see what grounds you have for taking the phone back. As has been stated on this board more times than I care to recall, no network guarantees a signal indoors as there are too many variables involved.

With regards to the signal issue, I recommend you try Google-ing OFCOM sitefinder and putting your postcode into it to see what masts there are in your area.

I also recommend you be careful how many videos you watch over the 3G network as unless you are on their new "all you can eat" data plan you'll start incurring data charges.
If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

maybe so, but as the sales guy in the shop said signal is fine in this town (i know hes giving it bit of sales spchill) i exspext it to be pretty good, but the fact is it wasent that fantastic even out side, kept timing out when i was surfing.spoke to all my mates who have the phone on voda & they said never had a problem.

so took it back exsplained wasent happy with the service-reception,the guy said its got to be the phone & offered a replacement but i declined & gave him it back with no problem to my surprise.got to be honest he was pretty good about it.
so i have a voda one on its way, with alot less of a deal but whats the point of having all this mins/downloads if you cant use them

I got the IPhone 4 on 3 yesterday, got it home and set up to find having no signal or 3G coverage. Did make a couple of calls, but most of the time it said no service. I Brought it back today with no problems.

I have not got a deal with Vodafone, £40 a month, 900 mins, Unlimited txt, free vodafone calls, 750mb, 25mb international roaming, £30 cost of handset.

My friends on Vodafone with Iphone swear by it.

  • there sales team offered me that deal aswell when they phoned me to ask why i was leaving them.but took them up on a deal.... £59 for fone which had been used upto 7days then sent bk (so kinda second hand but no big deal),600mins 500txt & supposedly unlimted download which turned out to to be 500mb after i said yeh ill gofor that.so i now have the phone from voda but i dont think the 500mb will be enough so i have upto 7days to send it back
