Hi there
Every time I open certain programs e.g. Acronis True image I get a message in windows 7 asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to my hard drive. I'm not sure what changes Acronis is making by opening but I'm not concerned so I'd like windows to remember my response for that program. Is there anyway to do that? It seems to ask me every single time I open it....

I've seen that, but that makes changes which apply to all programs. I want to be able to disable the alert for certain programs which I trust only - is that posisble?

Set up a task to start the program, then create a shortcut to launch the task.

Why would you be installing programs you don't trust?
I wouldn't, but I imagine some people do which is why windows 7 has this ridiculous function. I don't think it hurts to leave it on there in case some program does get accidentally installed, but I'd like to be able to turn off the alert for certain programs.0 -

I'm surprised there's no tick box in the alert that comes up saying something like "don't ask me again"... seems odd that microsoft have made it so "hard" to do this but anyway!

- there is, a [ slider ] tick box that is.
- Control Panel / Action Centre / Change User Account Settings / Never Notify is the ' bottom most ' position of the vertical slider, and is the fourth and last position & option.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Yes but as I keep pointing out I want to be able to do this for specific programs, not everything. I know you can set it to never notify you about anything, but I was saying I was surprised there isn't an option when it notifies you about a specific program for it to remember that rule (as is the case with, for example, the AVG firewall - I know it's a different process, so that's just an example).
