hi this is my first post and i was wondering if someone could offer me any advice.
i have been with orange for over 6 years now and never had a problem, but when i phoned up to udate my contract and phone the salesman was very aggressive and rude. after hanging up i did some research into other phone providers. but my problem is how do i cancel my contract? i have been into an orange shop, but they say i have to ring. Everytime i ring i just end up on hold or i am put through to the wrong department then i'm put back on hold. i only want to end my contract, its so fustrating.
Any advice that is given will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

There's an option on the ivr for 'I'm thinking of leaving Orange' that the one you need. I used to know the numbers, but they've changed them. . . But you could try 150 and then 1, 4, 20

You could try softly-softly approach, mash the numbers on your phone to whichever department sounds right then when you get to someone tell them you are considering a new deal and can they help? Saying that instead of 'how do I cancel' could mean a member of staff takes a bit more care putting you through to the right department.
All the mobile networks in my experience are bad in this area, they all try to make it hard to cancel. I had a really poor internet service on 3 last year, I really wanted to stay but their service was untenable so I was eventually put through to someone who tried to persuade me to stay if they offered me dirt cheap internet (talking pence per month equivalent). I said it was very nice of them but even if it was free it would be no good to me as it didn't work. They asked if there was anything else that would make me stay? I said short of putting up a new cell in my area then no, the sales rep (knowing I only used my sim for data as we had already discussed that) then asked what if he threw in some more minutes?
Why won't they just let us go peacefully?0 -
I've found Orange to be one of the easiest networks to give notice to cancel. One call on 150 via the handset once I'm within 60 days of the end date and it's sorted. I always double-check a couple of weeks later by calling customer service again to ensure it is showing on my account - and, of course, note each person't name and the date and time of the call. MUCH better than T-Mobile (who are sharks) and easier than Vodafone (you have to write in by letter). Should you ever be offered any new deal over the phone get it in writing first - especially from Vodafone (who are notoriously dishonest in this respect judging by the numbers on here who have been lied to and ended up with something rather different from what they agreed to over the phone!).0

Personally I always cancel in writing by registered (or special delivery) so they can't claim it was not recieved to the address on the back of your bills and ask for confirmation.
Never had issues doing it that way with any network or company.0
