02 Free - Vodaphone £25 Why

Why? does Vodaphone charge £25 to change a mobile number when 02 changed my partners free of charge in minutes?
O2 customer service is so much better than Vodaphones as well.

Could be any reason, why did your partner change their number and why do you want to change yours? The reasons could influence it.
Equally such costs as this are up to the networks and so long as they are not ridiculously huge they can set their charges on issues like this as they please since they know when you signed up you agreed to their current pricing.
(Unlike me, I signed up with Vodafone and then they tried to change pricing massively until I eventually managed to get out of a contract as a result).
Ultimately it could be down to none of these reasons and more one of the many reasons why Vodafone won the Bitterwallet worst company of 2010 award. I do not like Vodafone at all, they know it and their staff have taken to ignoring me when you get a Vodafone rep responding on these forums.0 -
02 never asked for a reason they just did it.
Vodaphone said it would be free if I had been having nuisance calls, reported them to the police and got a crime reference number. Otherwise £25.
Im with you Vodaphone customer service is awful. Had loads of issues with them on going since March 2010 and still not resolved all of them!0 -
O2 generally are the nicest network to deal with and they do generally give alot of things for free,The only they have stopped doing is there retention deals which is a pity but not a big loss when you see the customer service they offer.0

Don't recall anything for free from o2 when I was with them and as they had the most useless customer service I had ever encountered I took my business elsewhere.
Their broadband customer service is however excellent - in my experience.0 -

Nope. .......0 -
tell them you want your puk code (i think its that) as they have to give it to you by law if you are out of contract. If you want to actually change mobile number get a free sim card then ask for the puk code, they should have to give it to you:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Not PUK, PAC. (PUK is for unlocking your phone, PAC is Port Authorisation Code)0 -
Thanks but Im tied to a contract.
Having experience the awful customer service, as soon as i can end my contract without having to pay any lump sums, I'll be changing to a more helpful network. I've had no choice but to pay the £25 robbing B******0 -
So if you had to pay the money, what was the reason you had to change your number if not for nuisance calls?0
