    I wouldn't use an insurer that charged for chip damage.

    More and more are charging for chip repair, and the replacement excess is creeping up too.

    I usually wait until all the chips eventually join up, or the wipers start to wear out faster than I can replace them, then just get a new windscreen.

    Most that are charging are the usual " headline " price grabbers on the comparison sites.
