Frozen exterior water pipes & C/H

I know this sounds a daft question but can I use my combi boiler for heating if the exterior water pipes are frozen. Obviously I know I can't use it for hot water as there would be no water coming into the boiler, but would the boiler turn itself off altogether?:o

Yes.
It will simply work as if you did not turn on the hot water tap.0
