So who's planning to buy a place in 2011?

General sentiment seems to indicate nobody any longer belives that there will be a significant drop in house prices before they rise again.
That being the case, who has now decided to see if they can grab a bargain maybe this summer at a 5% discount from today's prices before interest rates go up again?
Seems like last chance saloon for those who had been misled into thinking there would be big falls after an initial 'dead cat bounce' and don't want to miss the boat like Feb 2009.

I think that there will be plently of housing boats queing up to take people for about another decade.
As an aside, 'missing the boat' is probably my most hated housing-based phrase.0 -

Well not having missed the boat would indicate you were no longer hunting wouldn't it. Having missed the boat you'd be pretty pіssed off and in that respect I'd have to agree, probably would be quite annoying.0 -
Tried to view two properties today and the first one cancelled the booking as they cannot make it, the second vendor wouldn't accept new viewers as he doesn't want to 'actively market his property'. Work that one out. These particular people aren't trying to sell. When our property was up for sale we'd break a leg to hang on to a viewing - and we sold!
Incidentally, we're sold, living in rented and money waiting for the right house. We've told the agents that too,0 -

EA's and Landlords?
Or blacklights?0 -
The answer is simple.
The only people who are planning to buy are people who do not have to sell.0 -

"Rise of the ‘price pessimists’ as those expecting prices to fall jumps from one in ten to one in three in the space of a year, while proportion of ‘price optimists’ halves over the same period."Act in haste, repent at leisure.
