KWorld DVB-S 100/DVB-S 100SE sat receiver

I was given a KWorld DVB-S 100/DVB-S 100SE PCI card sat receiver for my computer.

I have windows ultimate.

I got an extra cable from my quad LNB dish and can now watch freesat on my computer.

I have all the latest drivers and use HyperMedia 2.6 to view the channels

In the list of channels available are the free HD channels but when I try to view them I only get the sound and a frozen picture of the last channel I was watching or a blank screen.

Do I need something else to watch HD TV on my computer or does the KWorld DVB-S 100/DVB-S 100SE sat receiver not support HD?

  • Your DVB-S receiver can receive any DVB-S transmission irrespective of whether it is HD or not, and the fact that you get sound proves it can receive those channels. However the broadcasters may switch to using DVB-S2 in future, which is supported by Freesat HD and Sky HD boxes.

I suspect your PC is simply too slow to decode HD MPEG4 AVC video.

Or disable desktop composition, as described here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/easily-disable-vistas-aero-before-running-an-application-such-as-a-video-game/
