Enoughs enough my cat needs to earn his keep

Ok so long story short, my cat thinks he owns the place, he sleeps on my pillow, he eats and drinks when he wants, he hunts out his treats without asking and he thinks my towel cupboard is his bed.
All this for free!
Thus he needs to earn his keep... any ideas? I've so far entered him into the pet of the week in a magazine... does anyone have any other ideas? he's lost his tail so isn't a kitty-crufts winner :rotfl:
(Important note: Boots will not starve nor lose his home if he cannot keep up his payments).

Can he save you some money on your heating bills by warming your bed/lap? :rotfl:
Traditionally of course, cats used to earn their keep by catching vermin which would have destroyed food stores.
Got a funny/cute story about him? Readers Digest pay for humorous anecdotes they print. (Or at least they used to, did they go bust recently?) I am sure other magazines also pay for stories and pictures if they are good.
You could make paperwork with your confidential information on it into a toy for him and let him shred it for you. :cool:Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
My cat is employed as my foot warmer - although I don't always want my feet to be squashed by a 7.5 kilo cat!
He is also chief spider catcher - i've tried to get him into better paid employment but due to his narcolepsy (there has to be some excuse for sleeping 18 hours a day) it hasn't worked yet!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
goodness me I hadn't thought his narcolepsy would be a barrier to work... he does wake up if you prod and or hug him but often this is met with disdain.
I shall look into readers digest... he is a character so no problems with the story.
Sadly he is a bad mouser and bad spider catcher, he's only good for catching feather boas (he regularly hunts mine out and presents it as a gift).
I could take some good photos and sell them on a photo site like getty? is moulted cat fur worth anything? he sheds lots...If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
You could always pimp him out if he's not fixed...0

Constantly film him and eventually he's bound to do something funny and he can be a star on You've Been Framed!!What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

Put tinsel on his head, take some photos, make some cheap prints then turn them into Christmas cards for next year. That'll save you at least 3p.
What magazine is doing Pet of the Week? I might enter Teddy my big ginger tiger next week...0 -
You could produce 'Mice Pudding' he could be the shopkeeper!! LolThomson 757 Man0

My 4 earn their keep - thay have managed to catch (and kill) a mouse once so far - in a 1st floor flat, proudly presented it to me one morning.... I am very proud of them. Do nto know which one of the done it, may have been a team effort.
They keep me warm - with 4 it is easy.
They clean the floor from various spills etc.
Cats are just greattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Get cute pics and send them to all the magazines. I think most of the weekly woman magazines will pay something.
My sister's cat got an IQ test book for christmas. Maybe you could test yours then enter him in Mensa. he also got a santa dressing up outfit (£1, primark) which may helkp with the cute pics.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

As most cats spend the early hours of the morning carefully spreading cat litter across the hallway outside your bedroom door, send him to an old Japanese guy that has a Zen Garden to keep the gravel in line?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
