and most importantly front office experience.
That's another thing .... terminology. What is front office experience? If I was asked "Do you have front office experience" my answer would be "No I have never been a Receptionist".

in an investment bank traditionally roles were split between Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office in the life cycle of a trade regardless of asset class.

Front Office = Traders, Sales and Analytics
Middle Office = Trade Documentation and Accounting or PnL
Back Office = Settlements and mostly admin roles around the trade life cycle

these sectors have been diluted and have quite a bit of cross over now as automation of processes and changes in the way trades are now processed.

the role that Gen posted sits in the Front Office and deals with the integration of traders and the tools they would use to define Risk and their analytics.

as Purch mentioned the asset class they're looking at is Derivs probably classed as structured Interest Rate trades.
the recruitment consultant won;t have a clue what they are.
