LA Fitness NI - How much do you pay?

Just wondering how much others are paying for LA Fitness, now that mine has been increased by £5/mth! (partly because of the VAT increase, which equates to 69p!!!)

Gym : LA Fitness
Location : Belfast (can use both clubs)
Contract : Was a 2yr contract but now rolling monthly
Fee : £37.25 (was £32.25)
Per : Month

Other gyms nearby are only £14 to £20 / mth but dont have classes :-( Centaur & Pure.

what area do you need the gym to be? I know a few people that use Pure fitness in east belfast for classes and I use Breathe in robinson centre paying £21 p/m

I use arena gym at yorkgate - it has classes and a 25metre swimming pool. Free parking too. I pay £30 a month

I was a member there when the VAT increased from 15% to 17.5% and that time they added £5 onto my monthly bill.

Its shocking behaviour on their part. I was told it was for gym improvements but I never seen any. Go figure.

I am at Connswater Fitness First. It has gone up to £30-60 from £29-95 with the recent VAT increase. I must say that I am impressed with the recent changes that they have made in there - it is much better now that it has a similar set up to the Coleraine one where I was a member for a good while. Am on a monthly rolling contract with them..

Have been looking into joining a gym but the costs are enormous in some cases.

Have seen Fitspace on Boucher Road @ £12.00 pm (+£36 joining fee - min 18 mth term), and pure in Victoria St @ £17 pm (similar joining fee but no minimum term).

Anyone use/used either of these and are they worth it, or should I be looking at one of the more expensive ones? Classes not an issue for me, just use of the gym.

Go down to one of the more expensive ones around the 25th of a month and blag them until they do you a good deal. They're always aiming to get their figures up at this stage for month end, so will have flexibility to give deals...

Im a member of Pure. I got in at the early joining fee.

Its a very good setup and is usually empty.

I bought a years membership for LA Fitness at Connswater before Christmas and got it for £25.95 per month with 2 months free - that averages at £22.24 per month for the 14 months.
