Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Comet, you suck!!

I have recently been given a chair very similar to this one by one of my neighbours. However they did not have or could not find the power adaptor for the vibrating heated massage (which i want lol).

So i try the number in the manual 0113 2793520 and it is not in service (not recognised). Not a good start....

So off to Comets website we go, find the number for spares and repairs and give them a call. Only to be told that the company is not part of Comet but a third party supplier of white goods spares.

So back to Comets website and a question is left on the items page. Today i receive a reply (so far, so good) telling me to again contact the same third party supplier who have already told me they do not stock any parts, for any chairs, at all, EVER!

Brilliant!

I have emailed back but frankly given the absolute inability of anyone at Comet to actually either read an email or reply with anything but a cut and paste response i'm not holding out much hope.

{Rant over, for now. But i have a feeling i may be back!}

  • Why dont you Google the chair model and type in 'Spares' or 'Replacement parts'? Comet probably dont have a contract with the Company that the chair was from now. If the chair company dont supply spares how can Comet supply them?

I hope you find what you are looking for.

Alas I have tried that and no joy. From what I can tell the "brand" is a front for the comet parent company across Europe.

The company does not have a website of it's own :(

    Cheers fer the idea tho...

Gah, your all being far to reasonable and helpful!! My rage is fading...

If only comet were this helpful!

Good idea tho, but it has a weird almost audio jack style plug. What are the chances said plug is unknown to the rest of humanity?

    Anyone? Bueller?

Well maplins sell a reasonable range of all sorts of ends. So i would be surprised if there wasnt some way to wire it up. Is there any informations on the chair about voltage ampage etc?

  • Comet is owned by Kesa, you might find what you are looking for on the French 'Darty' website which is also owned by Kesa. Need to speak and translate french tho....

Yup, have the destructions so we are in luck
It says "The transformer must be not be earthed.

It must be connected to a 230-240 Volts 50 cycle AC supply by means of a three pin wall socket.

The appliance is supplied with a 12volt 1200mA power transformer that also serves as the main plug."
