Orange - New Year's Eve bug = bigger bills

For various reasons myself and GF at different places on New Year's Eve.
Texted her at midnight via Orange pay monthly phone, phone says "message not sent - resend ?" Had to do this about 20 times before it came up as sent.
GF hacked off - 20 identical messages from me!
She had the same - sent me the same thing 8 or 9 times - also on Orange.
All these came off my bundle the next day.
How much has Orange made via this trick/problem/scam ?
Didn't think much of it but multiply by number of Orange customers using their phone on New Year's Eve = massive text usage and income for Orange.

Will contact Orange.
But check your bills carefully,
Cheers, Bob

That link refers to Orange France, where messaging is charged differently.
Surely, using more texts from your bundle will cost Orange more or are you concerned that you will now go over the bundle.0 -
Techhead,
Almost certainly over my limit.
Maybe charged differently in France but doesn't it seems like the same problem ?

To be honest, no it doesn't.0

This is a common problem at midnight on NYE, though I can't imagine why. ;P The funny thing is that people slag Three off but I sent a bulk text on the stroke of midnight (more in hope than expectation) and everyone received it straight away.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Every network, every NYE its always the same, its certainly not a problem specific to orange, Iv had it for years with Voda, T Mob, O2 and Orange. Im guessing the networks just get overloaded with the mass of texts that get sent.0
